Save The Trees: A Bitsy Game
Activism meets a pixel art production.
Developed by Paul Maitner (Level and Mechanics Designer), Tori Lorenzo (Production Artist), and Samantha Olson (Production Artist)
The world of activism emcompasses many topics and takes on many forms. For this project, the team explored activism in games through the topic of climate change. One of the most popular topics activists discuss, the team felt this would be a good avenue to explore and produce a game that any player could instantly relate to.
The game was developed entirely in Bitsy. The team developed a simple story focusing on a sole character trying to save humanities final living tree by collecting medicine found throughout various levels. The player navigates their way through each room and interacts with the different sprites until they reach the end.
